We have over the years forged strong links with the local charity which supports the Bristol hospitals - Above and Beyond.

Their work supports University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and the Bristol and North Somerset Primary Care Trusts. Above & Beyond Charities funds projects that touch the lives of the thousands of people cared for by University Hospitals Bristol and local community services each year. The work of the charity includes Enhancing the healthcare environment for patients, their visitors and dedicated staff Furthering medical knowledge through research Funding life saving and state of the art equipment Supporting staff development and training Projects funded by Above & Beyond include providing pull down beds for the Children’s Hospital to enable parents to stay overnight, retinal imaging systems for premature babies and working with research partnerships to produce a DVD for breast cancer patients.
Web address: www.aboveandbeyond.org.uk/appeal_valentines_day.aspx The Heart of Bristol Appeal The appeal aims to raise £800,000 to enhance the facilities at the new Bristol Heart Institute. The new hospital will be a centre of excellence for cardiology care to the local population of central and south Bristol and specialised cardiothoracic care to patients across the southwest of England. Money raised from the appeal will focus on two key areas of support - creating a positive healing environment and the enhancement of medical equipment and technology.
