Telephone: 0151 336 1963 Web address: www.marshcat.com Established in 1997, the Marsh Cat has built a reputation as one of the best restaurants on the Wirral. It's on the promenade at Parkgate, with a wonderful view overlooking the marshes on the River Dee. Parkgate used to be a thriving port before the Dee handed it over to the marsh and the restaurant is named after a ghostly ship’s cat that’s said to wander the town. Vegetarian and kids' menus complement an exciting international a la carte selection with starters such as Maryland crab and Lobster cakes and mains like Teriyaki Duck.

He spent 14 of them in the kitchens of the Chester Grosvenor Hotel where he received the very best grounding in classical French cuisine. The innovative menus at Julian’s are Modern British in style but with a real international flavour. Everything is prepared fresh each day, including the artisan breads, and there are always three home-made soups. Choose from the main a la carte menu, which changes three times a year, or the Table D’Hote which changes every four to six weeks. The restaurant is open evenings from Tuesday to Saturday.
