The people of the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames have their health services taken care of by the local NHS trust, which is known as the Kingston Primary Care Trust.

The Kingston PCT buys health services for people in the borough, and its provider arm delivers a range of community services including therapies for young people, adults and older people’s services. The PCT works with GPs, dentists, opticians and pharmacists
across the borough.

It has two main hospitals; Kingston Hospital and Surbiton Hospital, of which Kingston Hospital is the main Hospital in borough.

There are two other Hospitals within the borough; Tolworth Hospital (which is run by another NHS Trust) and The New Victoria Hospital (a private hospital).

Kingston Hospital is an acute NHS hospital in Kingston upon Thames, South West London. It has an Accident & Emergency Unit, a popular midwife-led Maternity unit, an STD clinic known as the Wolverton Centre, a Royal Eye unit, a day surgery unit and a cancer screening programme. It is operated by Kingston Hospital NHS Trust.

The hospital, which is located on one site in Kingston Upon Thames, serves approximately 320,000 people in Kingston, Esher, Richmond, Roehampton and Putney and other parts of South West London. The Trust has approximately 520 beds and directly employs some 2,600 staff with another 300 staff employed by contractors but working on behalf of the Trust. The entire site is non-smoking, as part of an NHS initiative.

The Trust provides a full range of diagnostic and treatment services and focuses on innovative developments in healthcare, particularly in 'patient-focused' care, day surgery and maternity services.

As well as the General Charitable Fund, the hospital also has the KingstonCan appeal, which helped to provide funds for the building of the Sir William Rous Unit, a dedicated cancer unit, and also Born Too Soon, which offers support to parents who have a baby being cared for on the Neonatal Unit at Kingston Hospital.

Kingston Hospital is close to Norbiton railway station and is on the A308. It is serviced by several bus routes (primarily from Kingston upon Thames).

Surbiton Hosptial provides Primary Care & Community Services, Services for Older people and services for people with a Learning Disability.

The hospital provides mainly outpatient services and has a few inpatient services as well, with a small number of beds.

This hospital is run by South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust, and they provide a comprehensive mental health and social care service to patients, helping people with mental health problems to live the lives they want to live.

It serves a larger community than Kingston itself, covering the whole of South West London.
