Why move to Kingston?

Kingston has had the honour of being voted the best town to live in the UK in the past 10 years, and still features in the top ten places to live in the UK frequently. The requirements to be a top town are based on house prices, cost of living, quality of living, local amenities, leisure activities, job prospects, average local income and education. Kingston scores highly in all of these areas.
Moving to Kingston would offer the opportunity of living in a major metropolitan area, in the heart of modern suburbia, with great places to go out, to eat and drink. There are fantastic leisure activities available for the more relaxed ranging to the more adventurous kind of people. Getting around is easy for those to who choose to work in London can go by train, or even bus, and the roads offer access all areas outside or within the M25. There are great job prospects within Kingston as well, as much as you would expect from a major metropolitan hub. And for those families with children, the education available in Kingston has been shown to be one of the best in the whole of the UK. Kingston is a vibrant place indeed, and one of the best places to live in country.

Where to buy or rent

Being a historic town, Kingston has properties ranging from Georgian buildings and Victorian houses, to modern, chic, river-facing apartments.
For the younger generation starting off on the housing ladder or renting, Central Kingston would be the ideal place to live. This would be close to the action, the shopping, cafes, bars and nightlife. Rents can be reasonable depending on how close to the centre of Kingston you want to be. As Kingston is a University town as well, some reasonably priced accomodation can always be found. As getting around is so easy, the areas of Surbiton, Norbiton and New Malden would also be good places to look as prices can be cheaper here.
For those who can afford to send a bit more and still wish to buy/rent an apartment, then a riverside location would be perfect. The river runs by Central Kingston along the way to Surbiton. The prices and rents are dearer for obvious reasons, however the quality of living is unsurpassed. Modern flats can be found here as well as Mansion block apartments from the 1960's. As Kingston is a decent area all around, House prices and rents remain fairly consistent throughout the borough with a few exceptions. Surbiton, Coombe, Kingston Hill and parts of New Malden have high house prices and high rents, as these are the most desirable places to live based on location, local amenities and general affluence. Cheaper houses can be found in other parts of Kingston, usually of the main 1930's semi-detached kind in Tolworth, New Malden, and Worcester Park. The uniqueness of your situation would really determine whereabouts in Kingston would be right for you, but there will be a place guaranteed.
