Why move to Peterborough?
The busy city of Peterborough (the name is derived from its Norman Cathedral St. Peter), lies in the northern corner of Cambridgeshire, on the bank of the River Nene right on the edge of the Fens. Peterborough is an ancient and prosperous city, which has preserved its ancient heritage and today incorporates modern shopping and leisure facilities.
Peterborough boasts an imposing Cathedral, which dates back to 655 AD, and has the distinction of being the burial place for two queens, Katherine of Aragon and Mary, Queen of Scots.
East Anglia has warmer and sunnier summers than many other parts of the UK and rainfall in Cambridgeshire is one of the lowest in the country.
Peterborough is also the gateway to The Fens, an area measuring 1,500 square miles, criss-crossed with waterways and offering endless opportunities for rambling, bird watching and water sports.
Take your pick from the Peterborough Festival, the East of England Show, the Camra beer festival, the grand Broadway theatre complex, a 13-screen cinema plus lots more.
