BMA Council established a Retired Members Forum in 2004 with the following terms of reference "To consider matters directly relevant to those members of the BMA permanently retired from medical practice, excluding issues relating to prebvious employment which remain the responsibility of existing standing committees".

BMA Charities

The BMA Charities, which are registered with the Charity Commission, were established to help all doctors (not just members) and their dependants in times of need. This includes refugee doctors. Funds administered by BMA Charities are: The BMA Charities Trust Fund; The BMA Medical Education Trust Fund; The Hastings Benevolent Fund; The Dain Fund. The Claire Wand Fund: The Claire Wand Fund is a trust working to provifde grants for research and the further education of doctors working in general practice. Trustees mee in May and December to consieder appliaitons.

Job Sharing

The BMA's job-sharing register covers all branches of medical practice and records speciality grade and georgraphical area. The service aims to put 'matching' members in touch with eachother, but not to find posts.
